Hey, why not? New guy here.

Hey, why not? New guy here.
Been "hosing" for about 4 months now, glad to find there's a community for people like us. Brief backstory in case any of this sounds familiar:

- Went to a sleep study back in 2010 after wanting to potentially do something about snoring. The place said, without a doubt, that I had severe sleep apnea. Me being me, ignored that advise for five years. Finally saw a sleep guy (Dr. Doolittle, no less) and said a CPAP was really the only non-surgical way to fix it, and even going under the knife was a 50/50 shot.

- Switched to the nose mask over the full face one. That my dog ate it and though it looked more comfortable. I generally only stand 4 to 6 hours a night of looking like a cross between Big Van Vader and Immortal Joe from Fury Road. I will admit to sleeping better and deeper, waking up not as, ya know...dead.

I'm just outside of Boston, a regular working class guy drifting in middle age with this machine on my face every night like and extra out of Alien. Married for over 26 years, god love her for putting up with some heavy snoring.

So there you go, thanks!

The road to success is first admitting you have a problem. See, don't you feel better getting that off your chest?

Very true! I'm working on 20 year of sobriety so this shouldn't be too bad. I do have a minimum of four hours a night with the mask on, so I find myself either going 5 - 6 or waking up with exactly 4 done before tossing it off.

I feel your pain, quit smoking after 30 years, (8 years now) and ALWAYS was overweight, just finished losing 70 lbs. Hope to keep it off. Good Luck!
