RE: Quick question from newbie
Here are my numbers from last night. I followed the advice of someone who responded. I was set on auto cpap with a low pressure set at 6 and a high pressure set at 18. I had no episodes of feeling like there was an obstruction with the settings I changed them to (which are listed below). Should I leave them or is 20 to high? Can someone give me advice with the numbers listed below?

RE: Quick question from newbie
Your software may not report pressure statistics...
It would be nice to know your median, 90% and max pressure stats.
The machine will not hit the 20 max if it does not need it.
The machine increases pressure for Hypos and OSAs. It will not advance pressure for a CA.
I wish we could see some graphs around the time of your OSAs. That might indicate that OSAs occur when the pressure has retreated to 8.
If that were the case, it would indicate that a small bump in min pressure would reduce OSAs.
I would just turn that ramp off. Other than that, run with it for a while.
RE: Quick question from newbie
Hi cardiacthug,
Can you tell us what your 90% pressure reading has been? This would give us a better indication of a better start pressure. Example: if your 90% pressure was at 10cm, then that means your pressure was at 10 and below for 90% of the night.
If you can find your 90% pressure, then a good start pressure would be 1 number below that.
You have too many Obstructives which may indicate a slightly higher start setting.
Sometimes it is best to turn that ramp feature off. But if you feel you need it, then start it at 6cm for 5 minutes or 10 minutes.
In regard to your question if a setting of 20 max is too high...well that is the highest setting, and I personally wouldn't leave it there. For now, bring it down to 14.
Remember when you make changes to give it some time. Your aim should be an
AHI <5.
EDIT: Sorry Mongo, didn't see your reply, but at least we are thinking the same.
