A heated hose lets you use higher humidity without getting rainout.
Some models also have a humidity sensor at the mask end, and give you better control of the humidity you are breathing.
They heat the air a bit, but my feeling is that it's not that much of a difference.
Remember that more humidity isn't always better. Some people find too much humidity actually makes congestion worse.
I have a few climateline hoses, but I use unheated hoses.
