My S8 died in its sleep

My S8 died in its sleep
Kinda weird.....

Replaced my S8 Elite with an S9AutoSet two months ago. S8 went to take a vacation on the closet shelf after 6-7 years and 18,000 (plus or minus 300 hours).

Pulled it down yesterday just to look at the DC plug thinking of outfitting it for emergency or use as a power failure backup.

For spit and giggles, I plugged in AC power. Nothing happened. No lights, no screen no response to power button. It appears to have just deid in its sleep. If I put on the humidifier, the light on the front glows, but that's it.

Any thoughts on why it would go from reliable service (slight blower motor noise on morning cool down that caused me to look at replacement) to total dead - just by by sitting unplugged on a shelf? Maybe just its time?

RE: My S8 died in its sleep....
Hi OMyMyOHellYes,
Sounds like the power supply just decided it was tired and quit on ya, and after sitting on the shelf for a while just one touch of the power switch finished it off. It also sounds like you were just starting to have trouble with your blower from what you said in your post.
Hang in there for more responses to your post and best of luck getting that spare machine to run.
