I read the brochure and it says that of your nose becomes blocked during the night it may be difficult to use a CPAP. This happens to me every night. One side is always blocked. If I get a CPAP prescribed, would this be an issue? I'll ask my specialist on the next meeting as well. I'm really hoping I'll get to a solution. These issues date back four years at least and most likely to 2006 (it took a long time to figure out what the issue was in the first place). So I'm keen to get it resolved.

That's wrong, and interesting that they would say that. There are Full Face Masks (FFM) that allow you to get CPAP through either your nose or mouth. It's better to breathe through your nose for CPAP, but millions of clogged nose people successfully use FFM's.

I'll look into it, but even if I have to self fund, I don't mind if I just can move on from here.

What country do you live in? Policies vary a lot.

There are a few options: Orega systems but also Philips Respironics. Any feedback on this? I hope to get some info ahead here, to ask the right questions. Very relieved that matters are progressing. Looking forward to get more helpful feedback here, and I'm very grateful for the advice given already!

Definitely get the Philips Respironics. You can find out how to adjust it and monitor it yourself here on this board.

BTW, the "medical mafia" will probably try to screw you on what machine you get, monitoring, and other things in the CPAP process. That's what makes conversation with other CPAP users so valuable. Be very careful about which machine they give you, and dealing with the DME (CPAP salesman.)

If it's midnight and a DME tells you it's dark outside, go check for yourself.

Get the free OSCAR CPAP software here.
