RE: Nasal pillow masks
I have used the same nasal pillow mask (Puritan Bennett Breeze) as Paula for years and have to agree 100% with what was said here and also in the review here:
(Edit: well, I would have provided the URL but the forum scolded me for trying and said "minimum post count is 8 posts" and this is only my 2nd so you'll have to look up Paula's review on the main page under Product Reviews - easy to find there)
Not being a fluid dynamics specialist, I cannot understand for the life of me why they can't divert the jet stream towards the head of the bed using a small straw-like tube. I wrote the company to suggest this as it seriously interferes with spooning. One can move the bed away from the wall easier than always sleeping back-to-back.
Anyway, if you haven't tried the Breeze pillows, it's definitely worth a shot even at $99 or whatever it is now. I can't imagine going back to my old nasal mask. My only suggestion is to change the pillows regularly (most insurance companies only authorize monthly, but I would prefer every two weeks). Wash daily with soap and cold water so they retain their form, and take your time to adjust the angle of the oval shaped pillows to minimize any leak tendencies. You'll know by the sound if it's leaking. It also helps to have a dry nose (something hard for me because my nose has a tendency to allergies so waters at the least opportunity -- Kleenex is part of my mandatory bedtime prep).
