RE: ResMed S9 serial number for 905 Firmware
Hello,
does anybody know whether there is a new Firm ware (later then 905) on the market for the ResMed S9 Auto set machine?
Cheers, Werner

Members who have very recently bought new machines have reported 0907 being the latest at that time. That's the last one I've heard of, but that doesn't mean 0908 isn't out yet. It can be hard to keep up with these things.

0907 is the highest I've seen on Autoset.

Hi jgjones1972 and STL Mark

thank you very much for your quick reply. I bought my machine last year and I'm on FW903. Is that a good or a bad thing, I wonder. Four to five FW updates in one year! I am making some inquiries for somebody else. He is in the process of buying a new machine. I don't want him to buy old stock...

RE: ResMed S9 serial number for 905 Firmware
Firmware updates seem to come out at a pretty rapid pace - each one seems to me to just make minor settings changes. Every once in a while a change will be noticeable; for instance, at some point between 2010 and 2012 they made SmartStart compatible with Full Face Masks (I know this because I have an Aussie 2010 that blacks out SmartStart when FFM is selected, but my 2012 made in Singapore will allow it and it works fine).

Have your friend look at the serial number plate on the back of the machine. The first two numbers identify the country it was manufactured in (23 for Singapore, for instance) and then the next two numbers are for the year it was manufactured. Hence, the serial number of my 2012 made in Singapore starts with "2312".

As you can see here...

If I were buying a new machine, I would definitely make sure those second two numbers are "13". If I'm buying new, I want new.

thank you very much for the very helpful and interesting information.
I will definitely from now on have a closer look at everything I buy. One can only be hopeful that ResMed will come out in the open and disclose all these "minor", but important details. But it will probably never happen.

Mine 0602 bought 2010
Few minor changes, like enabling smart/start with full face mask but still some people get annoyed with the noise
Lesson learned ... avoid the gouged prices in Australia and not getting rip-off ever again

I would not worry about minor changes, for sure an S10 is coming out soon to compete with Respironcis Bluetooth as shown in the youtube video

LOL we are "fortunate" to live in Oz, we " may" pay nearly twice as much for all items than the US.....but...
It is maybe a good idea to wait for the ResMed S10 machine to get what would be a proper improvement - upgrade FW by patients.

My machine that I just purchased has the 0907 firmware on it. When I ordered it, I asked that the most up-to-date firmware be put in it.
