As long as your machine is replaced and replaced at no charge to you, I wouldn't be too concerned with the specific details of the broken one. It is no longer a safety hazard to you, your family and your residence. Chances are, they won't give you a report and they probably found that the machine did what you said it did and didn't do anything further.
At any rate, good you were persistent and are getting a new machine. Good for you.
