Fair Use Notice

This web site and associated forums contain copyrighted material the use of which has not always been specifically authorized by the copyright owner. We are making such material available in our efforts to advance the understanding of Sleep Apnea treatment and to advance the educational level of Sleep Apnea patients with regard to their health. We sometimes include the full text of articles and documents rather than a simple link because we have found that links frequently "go bad" or change over time. We believe this constitutes a "fair use" of any such copyrighted material as provided for in section 107 of the US Copyright Law. In accordance with Title 17 U.S.C. Section 107, the material on this site and associated discussion forums is distributed without fee or payment of any kind to those who have expressed a prior interest in receiving the included information for research and educational purposes. If you wish to use copyrighted material from this site for purposes of your own that go beyond "fair use", you must obtain permission from the copyright owner.

Use of Wiki Editor Material

By using and editing the Apnea Board Wiki, Apnea Board Wiki Editors expressly license Apnea Board (or any person subsequently editing on the wiki), for the use of their written materials on this wiki, or any part thereof, on the Apnea Board Wiki, the ApneaBoard.com website, the Apnea Board Forum and any other web-based media owned and operated by Apnea Board, regardless of any other claims of copyright ownership the author/editor of the article may make. When editing a wiki article, editors are promising us that either they wrote the article or edit themselves, or they copied it from a public domain or similar free resource. Editors are not allowed to submit copyrighted work without permission from the copyright holder.

Commercial Links Policy

The Apnea Board Wiki an educational website devoted exclusively to Sleep Apnea patients and CPAP usage. We make a promise to our users and editors that Wiki operations will never be influenced by commercial interests.

Direct commercial links are not allowed on Wiki articles. Links to files or web sites that offer illegal or pirated copies of software are forbidden. Links to non-commercial Sleep Apnea-related websites are allowed on the Wiki, as long as they do not sell anything on the website. The only exception to our commercial linking rule is when an editor posts a direct link to a CPAP-related manufacturer website for reference purposes: this is allowed as long as the site does not sell products directly to the public.

Links to Durable Medical Equipment Suppliers (DME) or Home Medical Equipment Suppliers (HME) websites or web sites owned or operated by a DME or HME company are not allowed on the Wiki.

Any external link placed on the Apnea Board Wiki must be non-commercial and primarily be informational or educational in nature. Please see Links to be avoided for further information.

Links to any type of commercial site are not allowed in editor signatures.

For questions on what may, or may not be considered a "commercial link", please contact the Wiki Administrator or post your question in the Wiki Editors Forum (log in required).

CPAP Clinician Manuals Links and Setup Menu Instructions not allowed on Wiki

For legal purposes, Wiki Editors are not allowed to post instructions for entering the "CPAP clinician setup menu" or link to CPAP clinician setup manuals or setup guides for any CPAP machine directly on any Wiki page. The one exception to this rule: Wiki Editors are allowed to link to the Apnea Board CPAP Clinician Manual Page. CPAP Clinician Manuals and setup instructions derived from any copyrighted CPAP manual can be posted only by the Administrator on our CPAP Clinician Manual Page. This policy will be strictly enforced in order to protect Apnea Board, our members and Wiki Editors and to comply with the "Fair Use" sections of U.S. Copyright Law.
