A BETTER PRODUCT FOR PAINLESS MOUTH TAPE REMOVAL

A BETTER PRODUCT FOR PAINLESS MOUTH TAPE REMOVAL
I wrote long ago explaining that I found Milk of Magnesia worked to allow painless mouth tape removal.  I have now found a much less messy, easier-to-use product that I like a lot better.  It came about in a crazy but wonderful way when someone said barrier cream worked too.

I ordered Medline Remedy Barrier Cream.  What came was not barrier cream but what they call Prevent Silicone Cream with zinc oxide.  I decided to give it a try, as I figured it was maybe about the same thing.  It works great!  I use less than half an inch, putting it on first thing when getting ready for bed.  That gives it time to dry some before I put the tape on.

I'm still using the first tube I bought on November 11th, and there is a lot left.  I've ordered more in case they run out.  In December I bought some real barrier cream as an experiment and found it did not help with the pain at all, so I don't recommend it.

So there you have it.  Medline offers a new version of the Prevent Silicone Cream, but the version I am getting is cheaper, so I'll stick with it until they run out.

I hope this helps someone.  Smile

It's intended use is not very appealing, but it is going to keep moisture off the skin and the zinc oxide should have antibiotic/anti-fungal properties to prevent rashes. Might have to consider this for the newborn granddaughter.
