Just to go back to this question:
If you put someone with completely normal breathing, and so no SBD, on an ASV for a night, would the machine respond with a stable PS graph?
So conversely, if the machine is varying PS from 4 to around 10, does that suggest airway resistance that is causing that response?
Caveats: I'm just a patient, with no medical training.
