Advice if I need a different kind of machine

Advice if I need a different kind of machine
I would like to start by saying I don’t really know much about this so wouldn’t mind any help.

I’ve been getting lots of help to find the correct pressure for my machine (airsense 10 autoset) and while it has improved sleep significantly I’ve been told there still issues. As recommended by a few different people, I have slowly been increasing the pressure due to issues which has helped ahi but the problems don’t fix. Am currently at pressure of 19 with epr 3. Max (20) pressure changes nothing and am comfortable with 19

Each came to the recommendation of bilevel or asv. Don’t want to start naming people so won’t be
Im getting malformed inspiratory forms (hopefully that’s what it’s called), flow limits which have decreased since raising pressure but don’t want to go and quite a few either unclassed or just sub 10s events

(First post so cant have actual links, remove the space)

Have been recommended bilevel/asv as cpap cant help any further?
My sleeps improved lots but have been told it could be made better which I don’t want to ignore.
There’s the possibility of it not being needed or worth it but with multiple people mentioning it without any mentioning of it I feel there’s a correlation.

Would like others opinions on this for reassurance of it being a way to go and which type would help
Been told only asv can fix these by one and just recommend bilevel by others

Thanks in advance if anyone can help/replies.
If you’re reading this, hope you have a good sleep Smile

Welcome

We could help you much better if you posted Oscar charts rather than sleep hq.

Again, welcome, and best wishes for achieving great therapy and comfort! Smile

Most of us only speak Oscar, not SleepHQ. Wink

You can connect imgur directly as well. Use the image attachment to do so. However, OSCAR charts can best be attached by using the New Attachment button below the post textbox.

You're currently on static CPAP at pressure 19 cmH20. Results look good I suppose. However your question is about other machines. Yes, the ResMed AirCurve 10 or 11 VAuto bilevel would be a better choice. But you might try the AutoSet mode within your current machine to view results too.

The VAuto is a standard bilevel, but it's more capable, and likely more comfortable especially when higher pressures are required.

Thanks for the reply!
Sorry about the links making it confusing, first time on this site.

I haven’t really used auto in a while due to when I was using it, it would usually go to an average of 12 ish and the results weren’t the best, including waking up more often. So I was advised to just try constant mode around there which slowly increased due to issues staying around.
If I try autoset mode again what settings should I try?

And about the machines I was informed by someone only asv can fix these issues but I don’t know if that’s true and it’s only one persons opinion so can’t just assume that’s the truth.
With aircurve 10/11s isn’t there many versions? Is vauto the best choice

RE: Advice if I need a different kind of machine
The ResMed ASV is mainly for treating Central Apnea. Is that why it was suggested to you?

If you try AutoSet mode, you can try a range of 10-20, view results and note how it feels. You can also add in EPR up to 3 full time.

Do note again if Central Apnea was the issue, you might not want a large range. So keep monitoring.

RE: Advice if I need a different kind of machine
It was mentioned by someone who is very reputable for helping on Reddit forums, I don’t really know that much about it so don’t know why exactly it was said but I did ask why and apparently “auto b, vauto, and s/st cannot fix the waveform issues”.
I cannot say this is false nor true so don’t want to say it’s wrong but I would like others opinions as health is not something to make mistakes.

I might try the auto tonight but would like to ask what differences it would make? Never really liked auto that much as the huge change in pressure sometimes can wake me up which I don’t get with fixed

Thanks for the help

RE: Advice if I need a different kind of machine
One possible positive to Auto mode is you might be able to be presented to the mask a lower pressure unless events push it higher. However, again with Central Apnea, not that I've seen evidence yet, but variable pressures can make those increase.

Do you recall any of your sleep study results?
