AirSense 11 - humidifier tank not going down?

AirSense 11 - humidifier tank not going down?
For as long as I can remember, I've had to fill my AirSense 11 tank almost every time I use it. It may go down only a little some times, and others it will go down to dry  (not often), but it's pretty evident that it's working.

I've noticed that it's used very little water lately, but I can't tell if it's not kicking on because it doesn't have to, or if there's something actually wrong. I can't find any error messages or settings that show how often it runs. What am I doing wrong?

One way you can check the warming plate is to activate the preheat cycle. Fill the tank then when the preheat is done (15 minutes) just pull the tank and feel the tanks metal plate.

My water usage can vary based on the humidity levels of the bedroom and the outdoors. Prior to running a room humidifier. I could go through a full tank in an 8 hours sleep. Now with the room at a steady 45-50% I used only half a tank of water. So it can make a big difference.

Good point. The level of humidity in the room can make a HUGE difference in the water usage.

I get that - and it's been getting warmer outside (up to 70F today, and in the 40s last week)....but I keep the indoor humidity between 40-50% year round (I've got guitars that like constant humidity).

I just did a test run of the CPAP for about 15 minutes, with the humidity set to 8 (max), and the plate didn't seem to get warm at all. Would the indoor humidity affect that at all, or is there a way to force it to turn on just so I can rule faulty equipment out? I just changed the hose to a newer Climateline hose last week.

Your warming plate may not be working.

Test it this way-  set you unit up, and in the menu, chose RUN WARMUP.
Wait about 15 min, and then see if the plate is warm. If not, the unit has a problem.

One other observatiion, On both the Airsense 10, and the Airsense 11, the humidifier seems to work a lot better with the heated tube.
It can be used with the standard tube, but the level of humidity seems a lot lower on the units I have used when you don't use the heated tube. This may be as designed, to prevent rain-out.

taylorgtr, You don't want to run the machine like you are using it. Just run the preheat, which will turn on the warming plate with just a very small amount of air being run through the system.

And because of changing over to the climate-line tube. It has a humidity sensor in it. So if the bedroom is already moist. It would adjust and not need to add as much.

I have a friend in Wyoming that loves playing PSR guitars.

Check to make sure your new hose is attached correctly. That can happen. Also, tonight run it as usual, and when you wake up pull your tank out and feel the metal plate. It should be warm. That will tell you if it is working correctly.
Machine:  ResMed AirCurve 10 Vauto
Mask:  Bleep DreamPort Sleep Solution and F&P Nova Micro

Bingo! Found the problem. (more specifically, you did). I had the previous hose that I swapped last week, and as soon as I plugged it in, the screen said ‘Climate Line Connected.’ The ‘new’ hose doesn’t do that, so it’s defective. Calling LinCare on Monday.

Thanks for the info….it turned out to be the hose.

If you mean PRS guitars, those are awesome guitars. Wyoming has pretty low humidity, so even though electric guitars aren’t affected as much, it still has an impact.

CSB - My GF’s best friend is also friends with Paul Reed Smith and his wife. I want to ask if they can hook me up for a deal. Smile
