Aircurve/Airsense filter, hypo or standard?

Aircurve/Airsense filter, hypo or standard?
I ordered replacement filters for my Aircurve 11. On the left is my original, On the right is the replacement from Lofta.

They're supposed to be "standard" and NOT hypoallergenic, but they seem WAY thicker than the filter that came with the machine.

Did they send me the right filters? I ask only because apparently there is a setting that needs to be changed if they are in fact the hypos. Not sure what the setting does, or if it even really matters.

I appreciate your help.

They do look different. I have an AutoSet 10. The air filters I get are made by Sunset here in the USA. They appear to be identcial to the OEM filters. I don't use the hypoallergenic type.

Did you check with your DME supplier to see what kind they are? I'm sure someone will be along shortly who can clarify things a bit more.

Each manufacturer will probably use a different source for their filter material and call it what ever they like.
I would think if LOFTA’s is thicker the appropriate setting would be the hypoallergenic setting, not that it probably makes any difference .

I'm waiting for a reply from the seller (Lofta). It came in a generic plastic bag, so no indicator at all with the packaging.

So it turns out they are indeed the hypoallergenic fiters:

Quote:We sincerely apologize for any confusion. Currently, we are out of stock of Standard filters, so our fulfillment team proactively shipped the hypoallergenic filters to avoid any delays.

I don't think there's a settings involving hypoallergenic filters. There's a setting for using antibacterial (AB) filter inline style. You don't want to turn this AB filter setting on unless using that inline style. And BTW you can't get those AB filters moist or they clog.

You're right SarcasticDave94, there is no setting to change. I could swear I read somewhere that there was a setting for the hypo vs standard filters. I guess in my sleep-deprived state I just hallucinated it.  Smile

For what its worth.  I used standard filters for many years.  I eventually got a new S10 after 19,000.  I use the old S10 as a travel machine.  I opened it up to do a cleaning and didn't like what I saw, there was caked on dirt in quite a few places. Unfortunately I can't clean inside the blower.  The filter holder on these machines is a terrible design in my opinion, prone to leakage so there is unfiltered air that bypasses the filter.  The filters don't have a lot of capacity either and my DME usually supplied cheap 3rd party filters.

I found an adapter on Amazon that allows the use of a P100 respirator filter.  I'm using the regular pink filters which are rated for 99.97% removal of particles >.05 micron, which is  better than an N95 mask.  The filters have huge capacity so they last a long time.  It looks really strange but it's incredibly effective.

If your filters are too high of micron, I would think this begins to stress the blower with too much intake resistance.
