Anderson5420's OSCAR Data
#41
RE: Anderson5420's OSCAR Data
I had a good conversation with my sleep doc's PA, and I have sent her this morning's's sreenshot of the OSCAR daily report and a screenshot of the statistics. She said she would share it with the sleep doc and get back to me. So we shall see. Last night was a good night.

AHI 4.28
OA 0.13
CA 3.61

RE: Anderson5420's OSCAR Data
Last night's OSCAR data - it was another good night!

AHI 4.65
OAI 0.35
CAI 3.95

Should I be concerned if the AHI is under 5 regardless of the nature of the event flags?

Should I be concerned about "Time over leak redline"?

"Should I be concerned if the AHI is under 5 regardless of the nature of the event flags?"

doc's and insurers are content to call you treated with ahi under 5 regardless of the nature of the apnea. they won't easily be made to look any deeper. it's up to you to decide whether it's good enough, based on how you feel.

"Should I be concerned about "Time over leak redline"?"

the simple answer is yes. idk where to draw the line with respect to how much time over the redline but obviously concern rises as time over the redline rises. even leaks under the redline can be a problem in terms of efficacy of treatment and to the extent they disturb sleep. again, with ahi around 5, the system won't voluntarily help much, so it's up to you to decide what's good enough for you.

By the AHI number, you're treated. Do you feel treated or not? If yes, case closed. If no then put on your boxing gloves and pound it into the doc's ears, I'm not better!

RE: Anderson5420's OSCAR Data
Well, it is still to be determined if I fall asleep on the couch every evening after supper, or if I doze off every time I am a passenger in a car! And a couple of days is not long enough - if you plot my AHIs between March 5 and today, the graph looks like rolling hills. Consistently inconsistent, as I think you said. I am certainly not ready to say I am "treated." I'll just keep on keepin' on, use the machine every night, track results with OSCAR and see how I feel.

I'm not trying to be pessimistic but given the CA inconsistencies, it's going to be that roller coaster ride probably always while not on ASV.

RE: Anderson5420's OSCAR Data
When I saw the AHI on the myAir report, I was skeptical - 0.92 - but OSCAR confirmed it.  If it  consistently stays down there, I will be a happy camper.

AHI 0.92
OAI 0.12
CAI 0.58
UAI  0.23
RERA 0.23

I had lost one of the two little clips to adjust the P10 nasal pillow headband, so I was fidgeting with the nasal pillow adjustment a bit too much, but apparently it made no difference. Interestingly (to me at least) I had the most difficult time breathing right at the start, when it was hard to draw a breathe - those probably account for the RERAs? I had the easiest time breathing the last hour or two, which is when the water tub was probably dry. I am going to try it tonight with heat and humidity turned off. I have my saline solution spray close at hand, and I always use before I start the CPAP and then (TMI?) blow my nose!

How well did you feel after that session? I'd think the leaks still need worked on, and the leaks may be consistently high enough that the numbers might not be reliable.

RE: Anderson5420's OSCAR Data
I am not really ready to assess how I feel - I feel fine. The acid test will be if I fall asleep at inappropriate times. I still drowse on the couch after dinner and sometimes nod off when I am a passenger in our car.  Time will tell. Not sure what I can do to reduce the leak rate, any suggestions?
