Any mask similar style to p10 but better venting?

Any mask similar style to p10 but better venting?
I've only used p10 and I like the minimalist fit. However even a tiny bit of rebreathing is enough to make me feel wide awake as I discovered during the pandemic wearing cloth masks to work. I think I'm getting some slight condensation intermittently in the vent after a couple of hours that wakes me and prevents going back to sleep with the mask on. When this happens I don't feel much venting on exhale. So looking for advice on different nasal pillow style ideally similar fit to p10

You might like the new F&P Nova Micro pillows mask.  It's small like the P10, and the headgear is nearly identical.  I don't know much about rebreathing, and whether this mask would prevent that, but it's a really nice mask.  If you decide to get it, make sure you get the fit pack.

I can't use my beloved Bleep right now because of skin problems, so I used an old ResMed P30i, but I hated how it felt and that it leaked like crazy.  I like the F&P MUCH better.

I hope you soon find relief from the rebreathing problem.  Smile

Before the P10 I used the Swift FX. Better headgear and fit on the nasal pillows, but the air vent was not a mesh and can be felt in front of the mask. It's fine if it doesn't blow on your wife's shoulders. On the positive side, your dog won't press his butt in your face. Life lessons from Sleeprider. Smile

The Swift FX is the best nasal pillow mask but it has been discontinued, sort of, my provider still sells it but ResMed refers to it as the predecessor of the P10. Tip: stock up.

It has a huge advantage over the P10 because it has proper adjustable strap for head diameter (cheek to scalp) and a separate velcro strap for fore and aft fit (back of the head to the ears). Which you can replace on your own with almost any velcro strap.

And it fits and stays put better than the new P30i which is a terrible design, relying on the accordion style tubing to hold it in place vertically and has no small feeder hose so the huge main hose connects right to it at the top of your head, which means you lose distance from the PAP not only due to no feeder hose, but also due to it being mounted on top of your melon.

FWIW, I just tried the F&P Nova Micro (I'm a P10 user), and did not find any significant difference from the P10 in any particular aspect. I'm sticking with the P10 because the Nova pillows are $7 more each, which is over $80 per year for the same results, at least for me.

You should not be having venting issues with the P10, it is an outstanding design. If you have not ordered the Nova yet, I'd suggest thoroughly cleaning the P10 mask vent area in hot soapy water, using a soft toothbrush. I bet that clears up your venting issue. I have no idea what's causing it, but it's a proven design with almost no complaints about it's venting, so I would be willing to bet a thorough cleaning would fix it.

Some love the Nova, some go back to the P10 after trying it, me, I couldn't tell a difference so went back to the P10 for economical reasons. While some have had luck replacing the mask about once a year, my personal schedule has me getting a new mask every 6 months. The newer ResMed headgear with the adjustment clip is a big improvement.

Good luck!

EDIT: Not saying anything wrong with trying the F&P, so if you already ordered it, see how it works out for you. But I'd try the cleaning before placing the order and see if it works to save the money. If it doesn't you can always order the Nova, you've just delayed it a couple of nights.

DaveL thanks for the heads up on noise. When I get the nova I'll try it 1st during the day to see how it sounds. Don't want to keep hubby awake.
For now p10 is working good since I soaked it in dilute vinegar solution and lowered my humidity. When it's working it's a great mask it just seems like a have problems a couple of times per week with it.
Sleep rider you made me laugh about your dog comment, with us it'd be a cat in the face.

I've been using the F&P Nova Micro for a couple of weeks after starting out with the P10. I like it, and my exhalation is much easier than the P10. It has tiny vent holes along the top of the frame over the nose that vent. Some people may not like the air venting straight out the front like that, but I have no problem with it. It's a huge improvement over the P10 venting.

I wouldn't say the headgear is anywhere near the same as the P10 as it has only one adjustment buckle on one side, while the Nova Micro headgear has velcro adjustments on both sides. Since I have a big melon head, the straps on the face come right up under my eyes which is a bit disconcerting, but I can live with it. I need to check if there's a larger headgear size for it.

Just to mention, my Nova Micro only included the Medium pillows, but I would like to try the Large (or even the Small—you never know what might work with these things) as I have a little leak issue around the outsides of the pillows if I turn one way or the other. If anyone has the Large (or both Large and Small) Nova Micro pillows and would like to trade for my unused P10 Large & Small pillows, please let me know!

Have you looked at the F&P Brevida? It has a removable diffuser cover.
