I have seen the unofficial and casual use of the word "apneacs" used by individuals before, but not in the formal medical literature.

Am caring for nonagenarian parents: one uses a ResMed Airsense 11, and the other a ResMed Astral 150, full face masks, oxygen, humidifiers, modems. Anyone else caring for very elderly loved ones?

I always have and will continue to call us apneacs as slangy shorthand. it was an original made up term for me but I'm sure I'm not the only one it has occurred to. I've never seen used in the literature or reporting on the subject.
 I have no particular qualifications or expertise with respect to the apnea/cpap/sleep related content of my posts beyond my own user experiences and what I've learned from others on this site. Each of us bears the burden of evaluating the validity and applicability of what we read here before acting on it.

"Apneic" is an adjective I had seen and think I've used a time or two, but for sure my wife would say
 "apniac" is more descriptive of me--given my preoccupation with understanding and fiddling with "the numbers" of all matters apneic. Apneic | Definition of Apneic by Merriam-Webster Edit: I just searched "apneic" and many at AB have used the term, Gideon more than others, according to my quick glance at usage. I assumed I had used it here (I had) but wanted to check and searched for all posts using the word.

Of my 3 once-needed, helpful, and adjunctive devices I have listed, only the accelerometer remains operative (but now idle). My second CMS50I died, too, of old age and the so-so Dreem 2 needs head-positioning band repair--if, indeed, Dreem even supports use of it now. Erratum: My typographical error in a graphic shows Duty Cycle=Ti/Te where it should have been Duty Cycle=Ti/(Ti+Te) or Ti/Ttotal

I see 'apneic' used in the context of the 'apneic threshold', usually describing the breathing mechanism, often regarding treatment emergent central apnea. otoh, 'apneac' refers (at least in my mind) to people that have apnea.
