Bad aerophagia above 6(EPR is on 3 as well)

Bad aerophagia above 6(EPR is on 3 as well)
I'm getting pretty bad aerophagia with any pressure above 6. I have the EPR setting on 3. My recommended pressure is 8 but I just can't handle it- I wake up in the middle of the night with pains from stomach bloating.

I've turning ramping off. I'm using mouth tape every night. Mask is the P10 nasal pillows which I find fairly comfortable- zero leaks.

I did a test last night with the V-com device attached. Settings for that were 8 and EPR was off. The V-com seems to soften things a bit, but I still got aerophagia.

Would appreciate any advice! I've just ordered the N30i nasal cradle mask....maybe that will help somehow? It's been about 8 days since I started CPAP therapy.

Welcome

It looks like you already downloaded Oscar.  That's great!  Post some charts for us, and hopefully we will be able to help you.  Press the F12 key to copy your chart (FN+F12 for Mac) and post it here.  Usually, that gets it right.  Make sure we can see the following, and only the following, in the order listed:

Event Flags
Flow Rate
Pressure
Leak Rate
Flow Limits

Again, welcome, and best wishes for achieving great therapy and comfort!  Smile

RE: Bad aerophagia above 6(EPR is on 3 as well)
Here are three days:

April 28th was pressure of 6 with EPR of 3- that setting felt mostly fine.

April 20th was APAP with a range or 5-8 EPR of 3 - here I got aerophagia and bloating pains

May 1st I was testing the V-Com with CPAP mode at 8 with EPR off - here I also got aerophagia and bloating pains

I'm getting the lowest AHI with the pressure at 6, but I don't think I have enough data to really draw any conclusions there. Apnea events overall seem to be mostly CA...but I get the sense those can be mislabeled at times. Let me know what you think!

Best,

Joe

Welcome to the forum,
Could you post a copy of your sleep report with your info redacted?

If you had CAS in your sleep test, then you may need a different machine to treat them.
Hope you get good rest.

I don't have a full report at the moment- but here is some info I do have-

Original Study w/o cpap:

respiratory disturbance index (RDI) was 8.3/hour, and the lowest desaturation was 93%. The PLM index was 3.3/hour.

titration study:

Sleep Data
The study began at 10:42:04 PM. The patient was monitored for a total of 363.8 minutes, out of which the patient slept for 319.8 minutes for a
sleep efficiency of 87.9%. Sleep onset occurred at 10:58:34 PM for a sleep latency of 16.5 minutes. REM latency was 109.5 minutes. Wake
After Sleep Onset (WASO): 27.5 minutes. The study ended at 4:45:52 AM.
A breakdown of sleep staging reveals the following: Stage N1 16.5 minutes (5.2% of total sleep time), Stage N2 199.3 minutes (62.3% of total
sleep time), Stage N3 62.5 minutes (19.5% of total sleep time) and last, REM 41.5 minutes (13.0% total sleep time).
Respiratory Data
During the study, there were a total of 3 apnea events, for an apnea index of 0.6/hour. 30 hypopnea events occurred for a hypopnea index of
5.6/hour of sleep. 33 apnea and hypopnea events were observed during the analysis period as follows, 3 obstructive apneas, 0 central apneas,
0 mixed apneas, and 30 hypopneas for an apnea/hypopnea index (AHI) of 6.2 /hour of sleep. Cheyne Stokes was not observed.
The average SpO2 was 97%. The minimum SpO2 value during sleep was 89%.

Additionally I'm posting last night's data. I went back down to a pressure of 6 with EPR of 3.
