[CPAP] 2 month in and still tired
#21
RE: 2 month in and still tired
Sleeprider, thank you. I like strong opinions. I already suspected that I have central apnea and that I need a different device, so I got a Resmed AirSense 10 Autoset from eBay (for 170 Euros Smile). I know that does not treat central apnea, but I did some... errm... firmware adjustments that are probably against the board rules late in the evening and now it supports all modes.

I started with VAuto, with some default settings that I thought were appropriate and got the same pattern as on the Löwenstein machine (first screenshot).

At 06:30 AM I reconfigured the machine to ASVAuto, which is a little uncomfortable, but I will get used to it. I slept really well, no desaturations, AHI 0.48 (second screenshot).

Case closed, I think?

Sorry, I have to brag a little bit Smile My first full night with ASVAuto.

AHI 0.11, only a few small SpO2 drops, never under 91%.  like

I never slept so good in my entire life.

Thanks for all your advise. Hacked AirSense with ASVAuto is the way to go.

I'm so glad Sleeprider's advice was helpful, and I'm so impressed that you were able to turn a pumpkin into an ASV -- well done!

Congratulations on the good sleep!!

I am curious what you are doing with your OSCAR to be able to show all that data. One of the moderators tried yo explain I needed to zoom it to show more detail but I didn’t really understand what he meant. He never offered what to do to be able to show as much data as you do. I’d appreciate knowing what you do to get it to look like yours.
Thanks

I used the first part of this as a guidance to set it up: https://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.ph...timization

There is also this guide: https://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.ph...ganization

You can zoom in in Oscar using the scroll wheel on your mouse to get a larger view of the exact flow curves.

Hope that helps.

The Airbreak modification is not within everyone's capability. It's okay to discuss here, but not to swap firmware or post instructions. Anyway, worked great for you! Here is Resmed's Clinical Titration Guide that may help more with settings on the ASV and other devices. https://document.resmed.com/en-us/docume...er_eng.pdf
