8500 Feet Res Med AirCurve 10Vauto
We moved up to around 8500 feet and my apnea events have spiked considerably. My events per hour in Dallas are 2-5. Now, I am experiencing AHI between 30 and 70 per hour and obviously sleep is terrible. I have the Air Curve set to Vauto, the IPAP is set at 13 and EPAP at 6 and PS at 4. These settings work well in Texas. Suggestions on how to set up this BIPAP machine for the higher altitude. The most noticeable thing is I feel I am suffocating from lack of air from the machine and have to take the mask off just to get a deep breath. Advice welcomed.

![]() If it were me I would bump up both pressure settings, maybe IPAP 15 to EPAP 7 or 8, and see how you feel. We can advise further if more changes are needed. I hope this helps you. ![]()

Thank you for quick response!
I have PS set at 4, Ti max at 2.0s and Ti min at .3s. - let me know what you think? I moved the trigger from medium to high because I think my central apneas have gone up. I have cycle at medium - should i leave there? I will bump the EPAP/IPAP to 15 and 7 and see what happens ![]()

It may be those Central Apnea that's the issue. In some, elevations like yours can multiply CA. We would like to see them. You'll get better help if you would get the free, safe OSCAR program. It will upload your sleep data that would need to be stored in an SD card inserted in the slot on the left side of your ResMed VAuto. The SD needs to be there to capture detailed data before sleeping.
