CPAP Degradation

CPAP Degradation
I have an airsense 10 that is 7 years old with 20909 hours on it.  Do CPAP machines degrade over time or do they just quit working?  Would AHI activity be the only way to tell?  I think mine is working fine, just realizing I may need to start thinking about a new one.

RE: CPAP Degradation
Mine just started making a whine type noise when I inhaled. A new blower motor was the cure. But honestly, there’s probably any number of things that can go wrong. It would be start to go ahead and get a new one and use your old one as a back up.

RE: CPAP Degradation
It would probably be wise to replace your machine, but you may have many more hours on it.  If you have insurance for your pap machine, your insurance company should replace it for you as you are way past the five years most companies require before replacement.  Then you could always keep your old machine for backup.
Machine:  ResMed AirCurve 10 Vauto
Mask:  Bleep DreamPort Sleep Solution and F&P Nova Micro
