My AHI is relatively low (under 1), but people were saying that my breathing patterns looked strange when zoomed in. My wife has higher AHI, which we haven’t been able to solve for.

Do my wife and I need to switch to bi-level machines?
Hello! My wife and I are currently using regular CPAP mode using our AirSense 10 machines. However, we’ve been told on Reddit that we should consider switching to bi-level machines due to the nature of our charts. I was hoping to get a second opinion here if anyone would mind opining based on the below charts. I would be tremendously grateful for your time, as those bi-level machines certainly aren’t a small investment!

RE: Do my wife and I need to switch to bi-level machines?
Your sleep disordered breathing or apnea is resolved with CPAP, so your need for bilevel really depends on the level of sleep disturbance you still have that relates to respiratory effort or events that CPAP does not address. I'm not a fan of over-analyzing flow charts as opposed to looking at a broader range of qualitative sleep quality and respiratory data. Maybe post a chart or two? Bilevel can help resolve flow limits that CPAP does not address with EPR limited to 3 cm, but without any background on why you have been told bilevel is an answer, I have no opinion. This thread by Deborah K shows her journey from CPAP to bilevel and is informative on how to go about getting the device and what to expect. https://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Thread...ht=Bilevel

RE: Do my wife and I need to switch to bi-level machines?
it just seems odd to me that a husband and wife would need to upgrade to bi-level at the same. doctors usually tell you, that you need it based on a new sleep study.
