[CPAP] New CPAP User - feedback on my data

New CPAP User - feedback on my data
Hi everyone, I recently started using CPAP and I’m still learning how to interpret my data using OSCAR. I was diagnosed with moderate sleep apnea (AHI 15.2, RDI 21.2, PLMI 0.9). I’ve attached a screenshot from OSCAR, but I’m not seeing all the expected graphs and would appreciate help in understanding what might be missing or how to adjust the layout.  I’d also love feedback on how well this therapy seems to be working based on the data so far. Are there any red flags or areas I should focus on improving? Thanks so much in advance!

Was the SD card in the machine during the sleep session nad fully seated? I have made this mistake.
Was the SD card Write-Enabled?

Welcome

To copy your Oscar chart, press the F12 key (FN+F12 for Mac). Usually, that shows us what we need. You should end up with the following, and only the following, on the first page, in the order listed:

Event Flags
Flow Rate
Pressure
Leak Rate
Flow Limits

Again, welcome, and best wishes for achieving great therapy and comfort! Smile
Machine:  ResMed AirCurve 10 Vauto
Mask:  Bleep DreamPort Sleep Solution and F&P Nova Micro

RE: New CPAP User - feedback on my data
Thanks so much for the warm welcome and helpful instructions! Attaching snapshot from last night.  Any feedback on the numbers?

I noticed the timestamp on my data seems off. Any guidance on how to correct the time on a ResMed machine would be really appreciated.

A few more newbie questions:

How often do you all clean your mask, hose, and humidifier tank?

Is there anything else I should be tracking regularly in OSCAR beyond what you listed?

Given my AHI (15.2) and RDI (21.2), is there any reason I should start considering options like nasal surgery or MMA, or should I wait and see how CPAP therapy improves things?

Thanks again for the support—excited to finally be getting some real sleep!

RE: New CPAP User - feedback on my data
You are off to a fair start, you have the same problems a lot of people starting cpap have,  shutting off the machine and not using it long enough. What was it that made you shut the machine off? Do you remember? Were you airstarved?
It takes awhile to get used to it.

Your ramp pressure is too low, it should be at least 7 cm.
You can change the heights of the chart so we can see the bottom of the flow limit chart.

Try that for a few nights and post new charts

We only need the 1st chart with the following:
1.Events
2.Flow rate
3.Pressure
4.Leak rate
5.Flow limitations

RE: New CPAP User - feedback on my data
Thanks again for your guidance! Here's the updated chart from last night’s session (attached).. how do I change the ramp pressure to 7 cmH₂O on the ResMed AirSense 11? I wasn’t sure if I need to unlock clinical mode or if there’s a way to do it from the normal settings menu. Any tips?
  • AHI: 1.17
  • Usage: ~6.8 hours
  • Leaks: Seem higher in the second half—do you think this is mask fit or movement?
  • Flow Limits: Look moderate toward the later part of the night
  • Timestamp: Still off by several hours—any advice on how to adjust the time on a ResMed AirSense 11?
Also:
  • How often do you all clean your mask and humidifier tank?
  • Should I be concerned about the flow limitation pattern or consider nasal surgery/MMA at this point? Or is it too early to say?
Would love your thoughts on how well the therapy is going and any adjustments I should consider next.
Thanks again for the support!

You  need to unlock clinical mode for ramp pressure.

RE: New CPAP User - feedback on my data
Thank you. I changed the pressure and attached is my latest report. Is my therapy going well based on this graph? How do I interpret what to adjust based on this?  Any advice on what I should talk to my doc in follow up appointment?
