(OSCAR) Results of first night with CPAP machine
Hi all,

New to this forum and this is my first post. I was diagnosed with moderate obstructive sleep apnea (23 AHI) and picked up my prescribed CPAP machine yesterday.
It's a Lowenstein Prisma Smart with the pressure set to 4-12 cm by the doctor, a ramp period of 30 minutes and softPAP set to 1.

Looking at the data in OSCAR, especially the pressure, it seems there are gaps in the data? Also the pressure never really went much higher than the minimum of 4.
And there seem to be quite a bit of flow limitations (115 events). Don't these usually mean the pressure is not high enough? Although the machine is setup with a maximum of 12 but never got there.
AHI seems really good though?

I usually catch myself breathing through the mouth a lot during the night. But the doctor prescribed a new nasal spray (Dymista) that helps keep allergies at bay during the night so I can breath through the nose, which is a must with this nasal mask. As far as I know I haven't had my mouth open all night.

The night was kinda weird though. Woke up a lot of times and felt "aware" of the mask most of the night. But I suppose that'll go away with time.
I did keep the mask on all night.

Any help interpreting the data would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Richard

I believe you should increase your minimum pressure to 6. Also, try to tape your mouth.
