Some OSCAR interpretation help would be grande!
Hi there lovelies. I'm circling back around to you guys in the hopes that we can further improve my AHI.
To give you a bit of history, I've already spoken with a number of helpful members on here who gave me some wonderful advice. Previously my AHI was averaging between 7 and 13 before the advice.
Now, I have implemented the following which has lowered my AHI considerably to between 1 and 6, yet I still feel that there's more room for improvement as I'm experincing symptoms and many on here encourage trying to get the AHI as low as possible - even down to 0. I'm yet to have a 0 night.
Current setup:
Lowenstein Prisma Smart
Fisher & Paykel Simplus full face mask
REMzzzs mask liners
A rucksack stuffed with pillows to prevent me rolling onto my back
A loose fitting soft cervical collar
A pillow to hug and one between the knees
Disregarding the pillows, which are for comfort, as I introduced each of these changes I saw my AHI drop precipitously. However, I'm still having issues. As you can see below. Does anyone have any ideas?
I realise I'm still getting the occasional large leak, which could be the cause of my woes. I have tried so many masks at this point, and the F&P is the one that prouces the least amount of leaks. Nasal pillows are out of the question as the claustrophobia gives me anxiety attacks. Also my NHS hospital refuses to let me try any more masks! I'm quite limited on funds so any ideas for DIY or cheaper interventions would be eagerly welcome!
Perhaps my head pillow height isn't sufficient? Perhaps my mattress doesn't sink enough for my shoulders which is having an effect on my neck? I'm quite a broad shouldered guy so this possibility has crossed my mind. What do you think?
