CPAP clearing sinuses, is this healthy?

CPAP clearing sinuses, is this healthy?
Once in a while when I'm a little stuffed up (allergies, or a minor cold) I have one side of my nose that I can breathe through, but not the other. As I go to sleep with CPAP, the other side gets cleared.
I like feeling like I can breathe better with both sides open.  But, I'm wondering what happens to whatever was plugging me up? Am I breathing it into my lungs?
Is this an odd question?   Thinking-about Smile

Stuffiness going from one side to the other is normal. Odd but normal.

And drainage will not go into your lungs. You swallow it.

When you are drinking something and it goes down the wrong pipe and you cough for 10 minutes. Well, the same thing would happen if cpap shoved snot into your lungs. You would be very awake very quickly as you would be coughing.

I have allergies and VR vasomotor rhinitis.  My nasal passages are blocked much of the time.  While using PAP therapy they remain clear.  I suspect this is due to 1. the pressure holding open airways and 2. filtration of air. rhinitivasomotor rhinitis

The pressure reduces swelling of mucous membranes acting like pressure bandage or compression clothing.

The relief during sleep with PAP therapy prompted me to imagine a portable battery-operated device for use other than sleep.  I could use pressure full time.

You would needto wear a mask all the time. Besides, the battery would be large enough to provide enough capacity to feed the compressor.

Right, it is not practical to have a mask on continuously, just a notion.  It is very nice to be able to breathe through my nose without interruption when PAP therapy is happening.  Without it, little air will pass freely through my nose.

I have a deviated septum and sinusitis likely related to that, but it turned out that another impotrant factor was gastroesophageal reflux. After success in treating the latter I can breathe better (hope it is not a coinсidence). Otherwise I think the only options would be surgery or leave it as is.
