[CPAP] jdougc - Therapy Assistance

RE: jdougc - Therapy Assistance
G. Szabo,
Thanks for looking over my charts again and again! I am not afraid of using EPR, just wasn't sure it was required until you made it clear that it could be of help with my inhalation flow limitations, Would an EPR of 1 be Ok or should I go higher? Or should I raise the pressure a bit?

If you are ok with EPR, then I suggest the following settings;
Turn the instrument to the APAP regime with a Minimum pressure of 10.2 cm and a maximum pressure of 10.6 cm, and EPR=1 and see the outcome..

G. Szabo,
I tried the APAP regime with the pressure settings that you suggested 10.2 to10.6 cm, with EPR=1,  I shared by SleepHQ data as well as an Oscar screen shot.

RE: jdougc - Therapy Assistance
Your median pressure, 10.4, is higher than the original 10.2 setting and the 95% value is the maximum 10.6 cm we set. These indicate that you would benefit from higher pressure either CPAP or APAP. But your AHI increased as compared to your previous CPAP setting. You probably not tolerate well either the pressure adjustments or EPR. To find it out which one is the culprit I suggest staying in APAP but setting both the minimum and maximum pressure to 10.6 so you will have no pressure adjustments but have the advantage of the increased pressure. And leave the EPR=1 for now.

I will try those settings, thanks again. It is a relief having you review my Oscar data. It is good to change only one thing and watch what happens..

G. Szabo,
 I set my minimum and maximum pressure both to 10.6 and left it in APAP mode with the EPR=1 as you suggested. Please see Oscar data.
Thanks again for you help. I woke up with a heavy brain fog.

I am sorry to hear about your brain fog;  hopefully, it is temporary. Your CAs are okay. We want to remove the Os and Hs. I suggest turning the EPR off but keeping the rest of the settings the same.

RE: jdougc - Therapy Assistance
G. Szabo,
I turned EPR off, but left all of the other settings alone, as you suggested. No brain fog this morning, whew! Feeling more rested also.  My wife told me that I cried out in my sleep and she shook me to wake me up around 3 am.
Thanks again!
