CPAP therapy ineffective (new user)

RE: CPAP therapy ineffective (new user)
I woke several times in the night. I checked the clock and recall: 1am, 2am, 2:30am. It looks like I turned the machine off at 2:30am.

Swallowed even more air last night; some of it made it past my stomach. Not pleasant.

Segal,

I'm trying to breathe only through my nose, in and out. When I wake up, it's either to burp up air I had swallowed (in this case my mouth is still closed), or it's because of the noise of my CPAP running full tilt and pumping air out my open mouth (I call this the "leaf blower"). I'm not sure what leads up to that, but I suspect I just opened my mouth in my sleep for some reason. These show up as leaks in the data, which are infrequent, so I know that my mouth is usually shut.

No, not bathroom related, I just wake up and then go back to sleep.

I began therapy with a full face mask and don't recall having as much of a problem with swallowed air. However, it woke me up a lot from leaks and from the tube detaching. I just move around too much in my sleep for the full face to work.
