Can anyone tell me what type of leaks these are?

RE: Can anyone tell me what type of leaks these are?
The zoomed in shows the flatten tops of many of your breaths.  Notice only the really jagged part at the left was flagged as a flow limit.
The leak chart is too small to see details, can you make it bigger and dbl clk below the 40.o it may zoom in on the Y-axis, but the chart height is small. it the leaks are constant, sort of flt than probably a mouth leak if spike than a mask leak. The small leaks really affect the therapy on the nasl type makes, imo.

The N30 mask is one of my most comfortable but it leaks too much. I switch to the P10 and use lanolin cream

Here's a zoom in to the same time range using Y range view.

There is a second screenshot which is the night before, lower pressure. One of those nights (I think the first one, I was using a chinstrap, which doesn't seem to make a difference either way).

Does that leak rate show any additional data?

cupcake.

In my opinion, thru my own experience, only mouth leaks cause the LEVEL of leaks you are registering.

If those were mask leaks, you would have no doubt about it, cause you would be having a windstorm coming out of somewhere!

And mouth breathing is very common.

One way you could verify for sure, is to tape your mouth closed.

I do not condone fully mouth taping, but for a trial, it would end your mystery.

Also, mouth breathing really does affect therapy, but mostly your chemical balance of CO2  which causes problems whether you use CPAP or not !

Check out resources on this topic.

It may or may not be affecting you, i suspect it will have some effect.

Also, it is possible that with higher pressures you will mouth breathe.

That is a catch 22, viscious circle type of thing.

For me, doing exercises to avoid mouth breathing is the way to go.
And for me at least, i get rid of a lot of mouth breathing using a full face mask, not popular but it does work and i have some threads and posts to explain that.

Hope this helps.

Seepak is right it looks like mouth leaks.
I have been using a soft device the last 3 nights a SomnoSeal just inside my mouth to help. Some drool when i first put it in.
Make sure your chin strap fits under the chin and pulls straight up, not back at all which would make your apnea worse.
You should use EPR to deal with your flow limits, try a few nights of EPR set to 2 full time
You may see CAs increase with this change, but they will go away.
If you feel starved for air, increase your minimum a little bit and see if that helps.

Re a chin strap with vertical lift, I'd suggest you look into the Knightsbridge Dual Band.  Its strap pass under the jaw and lift vertically to work with the natural rotation of the jaw.

In contrast, traditional neoprene chin straps wrap around the tip of the chin and the top, back of the head, the problem being that the jaw joint (which is located just in front of the ear) falls right along the line between those two points which means traditional chin straps are forcing the jaw backwards (which narrows the airway) and directly into the jaw joint (which is the least effective angle to be apply force for the purpose of rotation).  This is illustrated on the More Info >> Further Info page of Supplier #37.

(Please use the supplier link above, since a keyword search will still lead you to counterfeits.  The final hearing in court is on April 17th, and this situation should be rectified shortly thereafter.)
