Will an APAP machine fix me?
I used a CPAP machine for several years around 2016 (pressure 14), I was grossly overweight at the time and after losing weight I stopped using with no problem. Lately I have been really tired and feel like trying a machine again. If I get an APAP machine can I just start using it? Will it work out what pressure I now need?
RE: Will an APAP machine fix me?
Unfortunately there is no way to know without a sleep study. There are many reasons for poor sleep and daytime tiredness other than sleep apnea. If you do have sleep apnea, get a data compliant APAP such as the Resmed Airsense 11, use free OSCAR software, and post data here in the forum we can help you optimize your settings. But you would be taking a risk of buying expensive equipment that you do not need. I suggest to consult you primary care physician about your problem before proceeding.
