Cleaning Logic??
My DBE supplier told what and how to clean components of my CPAP. Clean the air line hose and water container every 2 weeks with mild soapy water or mild vinegar and water. Clean the nasal cushion daily with wipes. Clean head gear weekly, but how does one clean the inside of the head gear that holds the nasal pillow. Seems all the rest of the cleaning is for naught if you can't clean the inside of the head gear that you breath into/out of daily?? Bugs can grow there as well?? Or can you flush it with cleaning water and then "blow dry it" with the machine?? I dont want an upper respiratory infection from cpap!!

RE: Cleaning Logic??
I first went with cleaning the humidifier, heated hose, mask cushion every day to rinsing them, especially the humidifier and cushion. It really needs not be much more than that if you don't want to. Dump left over water daily at a minimum.
You really can't get much from the CPAP with illnesses. Take the guy sitting on his bed, breathing room air. If that air has a virus, germ, etc. that'll make him sick, he will. Add CPAP and the results are the same. He might get sick, but CPAP doesn't affect this one way or the other, in my opinion.

I have the F30i and i take it apart, then fill the frame with soapy water and swish it around so that the soapy water gets to all parts. Then rinse with hot water being sure that both sides of the frame get clear of soapy water. Then drain and hang to dry.
RE: Cleaning Logic??
I think you're confusing "head gear" with "mask". The headgear is the elastic strap that attaches to the mask frame, and it does not hold the nasal pillow. You just snap the nasal pillow out of the mask frame and clean the mask frame, which is attached to the short tube, in soapy water. I used to use a soft toothbrush and do that weekly.
The terminology you are using is confusing to me. Anyway, I empty and dry the humidifier tank every day, when I used the P10, I removed the nasal pillow and cleaned in the bathroom sink with hand soap every day. Once a week, I took it all to the kitchen and cleaned everything in hot soapy water.

He has one of ResMed’s “i” masks that pass the air through the frame from the hose connection on the top of your head.

RE: Cleaning Logic??
When I say “head gear” that attaches to the mask/pillow I’m talking about what the air hose attaches to that delivers air to the mask/pillow.

RE: Cleaning Logic??
My mask (ResMed F30 AirFit) consists of a frame, cushion, and the head gear. The frame will separate from the cushion. Once you get the hang of taking them apart, all is easily cleaned.
The hose, I just soak in hot water and some dish soap and swish the heck out of it. Rinse with hot water and hang vertically to dry. ![]()
