DIY Mask Liners
Hello,
I have an AirFit F40 and I get irritation around my mouth under the mask area from wearing the mask. I clean it every morning.
I thought I'd try making my own liners first since anything online isn't cheap. Just a simple flat piece of material with cutouts for the mouth and nasal holes. I made a test one that I'll try tonight.
Does anyone have experience with the best type of fabric/material for this? Or for any DIY templates for the AirFit F40 just to copy?
Thanks
RE: DIY Mask Liners
I personally like something thin like silk or equivalent (or like the little smooth cloths to clean your glasses with).
As long as the material covers all of the silicone of the mask, hopefully that will work. If it is your own creation, it doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to work and get the job done.
And if this turns out to be a huge fail, then there are pre-made liners for the f40 if you choose that route in the future. Several different kinds.

RE: DIY Mask Liners
A liner is available you can buy just one and use it for a template. It is designed to fit all hybrid masks. It is of a soft synthetic material. They are available online. Search F40 cpap mask liners for sources.
The one I use is okay but does not stick to the mask well but that's okay, the strap pressure holds it in place. It also causes leaks to go up but as long as effective therapy is still happening the leaks, even large leaks are okay.
They are a welcome relief from silicone to the skin.
