Regarding your surgery consider these two special masks.

Oracle Oral mask. Air enters thru mouth piece which has 1 strap that goes around your neck.

Tap pap nasal pillow mask, is held in via a mouth piece, air enters via nasal pillows.

Thanks for the mask info. These are better suited for me right now. Hopefully they are readily available locally or online in Canada.
