The majority supports it because it is a highly political item, despite the expensive and bankrupt nature of it.
The Canadian Provinces spend an average of 75% of their "entire revenues" on healthcare related items and ALL Canada's healthcare workers (from doctors to RNs and everything in between) are either full time contactors" for the government (doctors) or on the government payroll in one form or another.
The system has only been sustainable because of Canada's extremely low population (35 million) and huge national resources ratio to its teeny weeny population size.
It is a model that is certainly not sustainable in the US (or anywhere  apparent disregard for how much national debt it racks up and its else for that matter).

"That said my intent to conduct this poll is to see if I can come up with some kind of statistical result on the scope of this industry, except that in the US, things are the opposite of everywhere else, due to differences in our healthcare with the rest of the world.
So I will have another driver in my stats that is to do with demographics of the respondents."

You're collecting statistical results, with stats of demographics.

You're doing this on Apnea Board?

With permission right it or wrong?

You didn't get my permission for use of my info.

Is this an accurate assessment of your quote?

And would you like to explain this "collecting" further? We're all ears friend.

"As for the rest of Canadians who know nothing other than dependency on the government for their own healthcare, then they can get any machine their doctors prescribe under their provincial healthcare program and pay 25% of it, unless it is a ASV machine , for which they will either have to be one step away from the grave...so YES, the state decides what therapy is good for you, up in Canadistan....Then again, all socialist systems do the same, including and not limited to the US Medicare/Medicade."

This is a lot of wild language.

Again, I'll merely point out that all through Europe and almost all of industrialized nations, "socialist" (sic) systems of health care deliver better care for their citizens at a cheaper cost than here in the U.S.

this is backed by studies extending over decades.

last I looked, Europe, Canada and Britain weren't run by a cabal ofSocialist autocrats (Boris Johnson?) who'd managed to hoodwink and hypnotize the population at large.

This is an internal poll.
Its results are limited to whomever "choses" to participate.
No collection of data is even possible here, other than an "anonymous" yes or a no.
The poll's results are thius limited to this forum and are worthless otherwise.
If the forum doesn't agree with conducting polls, then Ias a member I will abide by its rules.

Allow me to elaborate why that is by no means a "wild" language.
As I mentioned earlier, it is a well known fact that without exception a great portion of Canada's provincial revenues are spent of healthcare items, while only 10% of the population utilizes upwards of 90% of healthcare costs.
This is certainly not an "equitable" way to spend public funds (isn't "equity" the political buzzword these days?).
That said, right leaning provinces in Canada have at least implemented a 2-tier system whereby a Canadian can seek out their own paid treatment as opposed to wait in line for state funded care.
In most other provinces however, it is impossible for people to even go seek their own treatment at their own costs. It is undoubtedly an insane predicament to be in:-)
This is why most Canadians who can afford it, go to United States for their medical needs, but you never hear stories about that in the MSM.

RE: POLL: Do you know of anyone who was NOT diagnosed with Apnea after a sleep "study"?
My friend just got her results yesterday. AHI of 3, but I know she snores as I've been in the same room, and woke up, when she did. I didn't see/hear any apnea from it, but she's had issues with fragmented sleep. She's currently waiting to see what her doctor is going to recommend.

With an AHI of only 3 it is unlikely that her doc will diagnose her with apnea, unless there are other factors that support the diagnosis in her sleep study.

AHI of 3 isn't high enough to warrant a CPAP, which I agree with, did this mean the medical world failed this person because they weren't diagnosed with Apnea?
