Please help interpret sleep study results!! Could this be UARS?
Hello, I have been suffering from daytime sleepiness and fatigue, night time urination and morning headaches for atleast a year.

I have suspected sleep apnoea for quite some
time, but the doctor said I don't have any risk factors, however I succeeded in
convincing him to send me to PSG.

I did the polysomnography at the clinic,
however couldn't fall asleep (I usually fall asleep fast at night and sleep
for 7 to 8 hours) and only slept for like 2 hours, now a week later I get
results and it says - not enough data and that's it. Now I am very disappointed
and quite desperate to be honest, because I haven't had a good nights sleep in months and this was honestly my last hope.

Is there anyone who could help interpret the results for me? I find the heart rate spikes very weird, could this be UARS?

I would have to agree with the PSG folks, there is likely not enough data to make a definitive diagnosis. Have you tried a home sleep study instead of a lab study? Not quite as accurate, but not near as many wires or discomfort as you are in your own bed.

Is it UARS or other SDB? I cannot tell from the data, but maybe someone else sees something of note. You did have arousals and snoring when you did finally get to sleep, so it is possible.

If you have the means, you can get a machine on your own. Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist often have used machines available. Just be sure to use PayPal to make payment, check on hour many hours used, and that the home was smoke free. Buying local is usually best as you can see and try the machine first. You can also buy new as many of those on our suppliers list run specials selling machines at a fair price.

o2 values on 50 are hopefully artefacts.
did the finger-clip slip out of position ?

besides those you have 2 drops below 90
and some smaller drops. i'm not specialist,
but i don't see why your doctor
wouldn't let you have another study.

a soft approach could be a cervical neck collar,
but do not put too much hope into it.

what you could do is looking for a used cpap machine on ebay or something,
and see how it affects your condition.

if its oscar compatible,
you could record your sleep and post it, so people could help you better.

in parallel you could try to get another sleep study,
but look up what this could do to your drivers license in your country
and what the conditions are, before.

time is brain and if you wait for too long,
you could probably also develop central sleep apnea,
which is harder to treat.

take action, so you can be glad afterwards ;-)

i would push for another study, maybe with a sleep aid this time. how long is the wait at the hospital? or do a home one.

the problem with getting a machine without a prescription is you'll never know if you actually need it. the numbers while on therapy won't help you find that out.

what i notice is that 62% of your events were in supine position (on your back). trying to avoid your back would already improve your sleep. even with a machine you'd need to try to avoid your back as it is the worst position for sleep apnea.
