Do you use dish detergeant for cleaning

Do you use dish detergeant for cleaning
Hi,
I have a question.  Do you use dish detergents for cleaning your CPAP/APAP things?  And have you ever had any problems by using dish detergent such as yellowing, material breakdown or just ending up with a smelly mask?
I know I can't use baby shampoo due to its smell.

I have had people tell me they use dish detergent and tell me they have had no problems.

Yet early on I was taught not to and the ResMed site also says not to use dish detergents.

Are they being overcautious?  Are they trying to get us to buy expensive cleaners??

I will be curious to see the various replies on this one.  Is ResMed wet behind their CPAP??

Cleaning your CPAP mask cushion, frame & headgear
·         AirFit series, Swift, Mirage, Quattro and Pixi masks
Daily cleaning tips:
From #4 In a sink or tub, clean your mask cushion and headgear to remove any oils. Gently rub with warm soap and warm, drinking-quality water.
Avoid using stronger cleaning products, including dish detergents, as they may damage the mask or leave harmful residue.

From #3 In a sink or tub, rinse the inside and outside of the air tubing with mild soap and warm, drinking-quality water. Avoid using stronger cleaning products, including dish detergents, as they may damage the air tubing or leave harmful residue.

Dawn dish detergent and warm water every morning with no problems. I've been using the same mask cushion since last summer.

Dawn and warm/hot water once a week and mask wipes everyday...I’m seeing a theme here...Dawn lol. Where did you see resmed say that? In there own cleaning videos they say warm soapy water if I remember correctly.

In general I use dawn.
I have found that the diffuser in the P30i pillows doesn't rinse well so I take that out before using any soap.

I use Dawn too. I dilute it in a bowl of warm water, then do my hose and mask laundry, rinse really well with hot water and hang to dry.

Years ago the suggestion I got was Ivory dish soap because it was supposedly less harsh.

However based on the fact that Dawn is used to clean oil off birds after a spill, and I think Dawn cleans better, I would probably opt for Dawn today.

Dawn dish soap and hot water, once a week. I use Clorox anti-bacterial wipes on my mask and hose elbow about every other day.

The silicone cushion on the mask will turn yellow over a period of time, no matter how you go about cleaning it.
