Does deviated septum effect CPAP data

Does deviated septum effect CPAP data
Just started down the massive learning cure associated with sleep apnea and was just wondering if a deviated septum can have an effect on the air pressure of a CPAP machine and as such can skew data being recorded.

RE: Does deviated septum effect CPAP data
From my experience, a deviated septum cannot change the air pressure of a CPAP machine, nor would it skew data like that shown on an OSCAR report. It possibly could affect Flow Limitations.
If you would like to have your data viewed and advice given, fill out the information on your profile for your gear and use the top menus to install OSCAR to produce reports. Click Wiki at the top of the page to learn how to organize OSCAR data and learn how to interpret the data.
I only give suggestions from experience as a fellow CPAP user, not professional advice.

I just had a septoplasty almost 2 months ago. The ent said with a deviated septum it can be hard to tolerate the machine as the pressure needs to be ramped up more to force air up the nostrils and this can cause leaks throughout the night. Hope this helps

depending on the degree of deviation of your septum, you may need a full face mask. i have a deviated septum and have to use a full face mask.

RE: Does deviated septum effect CPAP data
I have a deviated septum. I suspect that one reason I have a high level of Flow Limitations as shown on an OSCAR report is due to this condition. Why pressure has to be increased may have a deviated septum as a cause but the pressure from the machine should not be affected because it is being delivered to a deviated septum or other Flow Limitations condition.
