DreamStation Heated Tube Help

DreamStation Heated Tube Help
My DreamStation no longer shows the option to turn the heat up/down and if I select the preheat is just shuts off after I set it to be on. Is the tube defective/old or did I accidentally trigger something in the settings to keep the heat off? Thanks Smile

RE: DreamStation Heated Tube Help
You need to access the Clinicians Menu to set your preferences.  There are separate settings for the humidity level of the humidifier and the Tube Temperature.

If you need a Clinicians manual for your machine, order it here:

https://www.apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap-p...tup-manual

Here is a brief description from the manual:

Humidification
This setting allows you to select the Humidification Mode being used. You can choose between Fixed or Adaptive (A) Humidification. If a heated tube is attached to the device, then the device will automatically switch to Heated Tube Humidification Mode. Fixed mode applies a constant heat on the humidifier heater plate. Under certain conditions and settings, this mode can allow condensation to occur in the tube. Adaptive mode adapts the heater plate temperature to the ambient conditions in the room, and is designed to not allow condensation to occur in the tube.

Humidifier
This setting allows you to choose the desired humidity setting for the humidifier: 0, 1, 2,3,4 or 5.

Tube Temperature
This setting allows you to choose the desired temperature for the heated tube: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5.

The setting is set to 4 but once the machine is on the tube doesn’t heat up and it doesn’t give me the option to control the heat with the dial anymore, just the humidity.

RE: DreamStation Heated Tube Help
The tube doesn't actually "heat up", but it will feel slightly warm to the touch.  A heated tube helps with any condensation that may be in the tube.

Many of us also use a fleece type hose cover.  They're fairly inexpensive.  Again, the tube isn't meant to heat up.

You can use the preheat feature to warm up the water in the humidifier 15 minutes before bed.  That helps with the air not feeling cold.

If what you're saying is the heated hose settings disappeared after turning the PAP on, that's an issue. I'd bring that up with the supplier.

Did you recently replace the hose... perhaps with a hose that isn't a heated hose?

Is the heated hose's connector plugged in?
