Drooling into Foam Memory Mask - Newbie needs help

Drooling into Foam Memory Mask - Newbie needs help
Hello:

I am a new CPAP user and am using the ResMed F20 Foam Memory mask.  It is working well for me, but I worry about drooling and mask degradation.   I have only been using the mask for a week, and I can already see degradation on the right-hand side of the foam (see picture).

Given how much these masks cost, I worry that I will need to replace the mask very often due to drooling.   Have others experienced this and do you have any suggestions?  I am thinking I might put a band-aid or gauze over the area, but I worry about the fit and leakage.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.

David (Toronto)

Have you tried the AirFit F20? You won't have any degradation issues with it.  Cool

Thanks every much.  I haven't tried it yet, as I had some irritation issues with silicone when I initially tested out a nasal mask.

It is a good suggestion, however, to test the silicone version as maybe the touch points are a little different.

Appreciate the comment.   Thanks

I started Sleep Apnea Therapy with an AirFit F20. It served me fine, but once the AirFit F30 came out, I tried one and I was sold.  Thumbs-up-2

Another thing you can do with any of the masks you and Big Guy have discussed is to buy a mask liner.  Supplier 31 is very well regarded and liked by folks here.

Best wishes with finding a great solution! Smile
Machine:  ResMed AirCurve 10 Vauto

Thanks very much Deborah.  Do you have a link to 'Supplier 31'.  I am not sure how to find it.

Thanks again.  David Smile

Two ways to get Supplier #31.  Click on the blue link, or go to the top of any page here and select the Supplier List.  Either way, you will need to scroll down to the #31 listing.
