[Equipment] Airsense 11 Water Leak

Airsense 11 Water Leak
I have a recurring issue with my Airsense 11 Autoset.
The machine is about 2.5 years old, and is no longer in warranty.
For approx. the first 15 months, I had no issues with the machine.
After that time, I started having every humidifier tub develop leaks. This happens approx within a week, to two weeks. I have replaced the tub over 10 times in the last 8 months or so.

Some more details:
I have used distilled water, and reverse osmosis water, as will as softened water. This has no bearing on the problem.
I am not subjecting the tubs to anything like high heat, dishwasher, solvents, etc.
I clean the tub with Dawn dish detergent or baby shampoo.
I have purchesed the dishwasher safe tubs as well, there is not any difference with them, even when NOT washing in the dishwasher.

No matter how gently I treat the tubs, they all develop water leaks withing a couple of days.
I am only filling the tub to slightly above the middle mark. I am not tipping the tub or spilling the water when inserting the tub.
The tub never runs dry.

I sent the unit to Resmed to diagnose the issue, and I am using my older Airsense 10 Autoset with the newer design tubs with the circular plate.
It's been over a month, and no leaking whatsoever.

Resmed cannot duplicate the problem.

MY DME has not seen widespread leaking with the Airsense 11 tubs. It seems that either the tubs are all defective (not likely) or something specific to my machine is causing the issue.

My question is: Are there other users here who have seen this, and if so how did you solve. it?

I will be replacing that machine, and I will need to decide if I want to continue with the 11, or go back to the 10.

Are you opening the tank to clean and fill? The only time I open mine is for a very hot rinse to remove soap. otherwise I fill it through one of the openings and to clean just shoot some soap in the opening and add hot water and shake it. Then let it sit for a bit.

One could help the seal by rubbing on a bit of lanolin on it. You want to stay away from any petroleum products.

To be fair though. My machine was new in Oct 24.

I appreciate the reply -

I have filled the tank 2 ways: By opening it and filling ~ halfway. I have aslo done the trick of leaving the tank closed first, and filling it via the side holes. There is not any difference. I have also made sure that the seals are in good shape, and even moistened the one rubber seal attached to the tank to make sure it is seated properly.
I have also put the tank in place, and left it for a few hours, and then removed it to see if there is water leaking. It is not leaking until actualy use when sleeping.
I have tried pretty much every suggestion as to how to use the humidifier.  Nothing seems to make any change. This was not a problem of over the first year of use.
When I replace the tank, it will not leak for a least the first few nights.

There has to be something causing the tank to develop the leak.

Strange, So it's leaking at the seal and not from some sort of small hole?

Just shooting in the dark here, Have you pulled the little device inside that the hose hooks to and made sure all is well and that clear of debris that might be hitting the area where the seal is?

It's just so odd that a new one only starts leaking after some use in your machine. Sure sounds like something with your machine. Like I said, Just shooting in the dark.

I sure hope you find out whats wrong.

let us know when you find out what it is.

Agree - yes it appears that the seal from the metal is the cause. I think this machine will be scrapped, since Resmed said they cannot duplicate the problem.

Could the heater plate in Your AS 11 be overheating and damaging the seal in the water tank ??
That seems to be the only thing not mentioned in this thread ..

That seems like it could be possible, although Resmed did not find any issue with that during their diagnosis.
I am also assuming that the chambers are not having any widespread issues.
