RE: Equipment Performance of my Respironics CPAP
Galuta, we don't have much detail data to work with regarding your maximum pressure. In the less than one-hour of detail data you posted, your pressure is rising on snores. Your summary data suggests your maximum pressure reaches 15.8 cm and the 95% pressure is 11.3. Based on this limited sample, a maximum pressure of 12 could be justified, however the machine only increases pressure to what is needed. It is useful to know the Philips Auto algorithm normally "tests" a pressure increase of 1.5 cm, gradually increasing and decreasing pressure over 2-minutes, to evaluate if there are flow improvements. These are those "spikes" in pressure you see in all Philips Auto machines. If this is disruptive to your sleep, then the goal should be to get to as narrow a pressure range as possible. In most cases the fluctuation in pressure is not a problem, but YMMV.
Increasing your minimum pressure to 8.0 is going to greatly stabilize your CPAP pressure through the night, and you can see that if your pressure range is 8.0 to 12.0 that is moving toward the goal of minimizing disruptive pressure variations.
