Missing part - will I die overnight?
Sooo, I'm in traveling overseas to Glasgow Scotland (yay) and forgot a part for my CPAP machine in the US (booooo).
I ordered one online but it may not arrive til Monday June 2nd, so sleeping is rough. I haven't had the part since Tuesday May 28th this week.
The part that I forgot is the quick release elbow connector for my mask. It connects the hose to the mask. It also has vent holes in it for exhalation.
I shoved the hose into the top of my mask and it works! But there's no exhilation vents. The AirTouchN30i does have a filter with vents behind it on the nasal cushion. Are those enough to let CO2 out until the part arrives?
I wore it for 2 hours today (1 hour nap, 1 hour awake) and it felt normal. I didn't feel suffocated. But it also seems like a dumb way to die if I should just wait for the part and suffer a few more days of jet lag and exhaustion.
RE: Missing part - will I die overnight?
Could you just tape it together with scotch tape and cut the tape in one spot to let it leak? Thus not going down the papicide path.
Seems odd that the "i" hollow frame masks with the top connector are the only ones with two leak ports. My P10, F40, N20 all have one leak port.
I wonder if it's more to do with noise mitigation because of the noise of wind going down the hollow frame.
RE: Missing part - will I die overnight?
Possibly, there's not a good connection part on the mask to tape to. But I can definitely try!
