[Equipment] Much worse sleep with ResMed?
#11
RE: Much worse sleep with ResMed?
The machine is not the problem, the problem is the settings the machine is set to. That is true for both machines.

The ResMed is actually the machine of preferential choice of members who have had the opportunity to try both. With the problems the DreamStation has had the last several of years, many members had an "opportunity" to try a ResMed, due to the difference in algorithms utilized by the ResMed being more aggressive, most people prefer the ResMed. We still have one household member on a DreamStation and they are actively pursuing a change to ResMed because of the improvement in therapy I received from switching over to ResMed from Philips Respironics equipment.

Like Dave said the settings currently in your machine, Pressure min 4cmH2O to pressure maximum 20 cmH2O is a from the factory, wide open let the machine titrate the user to hopefully find a somewhat suitable operation. With a home test you did not get the benefit of an in lab full polysomnographic test with titration. So let the good folks here help you titrate to the optimum settings.

Try setting your AirSense 10 to: Pressure Min:  6 cmH2O
                                                Pressure Max: 15 cmH2O
                                                EPR:       Full Time
                                                 EPR:      2 cmH2O
                                                 Ramp:   Off.
                                                  Mode:   APAP

If you need assistance getting into the menu try:  https://www.apneaboard.com/resmed-airsen...setup-info.

Those settings will get you in the ballpark. After you get a day or two sleeping with those settings post back with OSCAR Reports of your sleep and a description of how the APAP session went. From there the members can guide you in to optimizing the setting for your personal peak performance.

CPAPfriend is a forum member with some very useful YT videos, I will reference a few here.

To gain valuable information working with OSCAR try these:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32JwMc6dphQ&t=6s
This is CPAPfriend intro to OSCAR part 2:   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujaoKvBnP00

Don't be afraid to ask questions.

Post back with more OSCAR Reports.
