[Equipment] Pulsing air pressure
#1
Pulsing air pressure
i have an Apex XT Auto travel machine and in the last couple days the pressure has begun "pulsing" on and off.  Starts out constant, then after a few minutes starts pulsing.  Is there a setting possibly causing this?

It has been in storage for about a month so unplugged...I only use this machine when I travel.

Hi masonga,
I'm not familiar with your machine, so hoping someone else can help.

In the meantime, order your Clinicians Manual.  There may be something in the manual that might explain the pulses you describe.

RE: Pulsing air pressure
Don't know about these machines, however, I did read somewhere (though I can't fine it now) that a dirty filter can cause the air pump (Centrifugal fan)
motor to overheat (though I don't see why as the filter only supplies air to the fan blades and not the motor).  Also if you have a small leak of just the right amount it tries to compensate causing this, and there is a sensor sometimes plays up.
Take your pick, but I would start with the filter, if it has a fine filter take it out just to see if it does this again, if it stops, replace the filters.
If not, and you don't have a small leak, it is most likely a repair job.
The circuit inside could have a number of faults that could cause this, depending how quick it changes pressure?
It could be as simple as a sticky bearing on the motor.

Maybe someone will come along that has had this fault before, though that is no guarantee it is the same fault!

RE: Pulsing air pressure
Hello, I have the same unit.   I have noticed this as well. This seems to be a normal start up part of the cycle.   It seems like it is syncing to my breathing rhythm.
