Resmed Airsense 11 AUTO
I am only one week into using an Airsense 11 Auto and have tried to read as much as possible in these forums, but I'm not sure I completely understand using an SD card in this particular machine. I am an teckie (maybe a teckie's teckie) and find the cell phone app a pretty good 30K foot view of what is happening. However, I would like to be at ground level and maybe, if desired, look into the foundations... So, I installed OSCAR and added a 32GB SD card to my machine (Yep, blue light came on). Now, my question is do I need to swap out the SD card each day before noon (i.e. ping pong two cards) and read it daily or will the Airsense 11 Auto record multiple days on a single card without pulling it out? I'm not sure I have found a single answer in the forums. Also, it appears that the app averages averages, and that is mathematically nonsense so using OSCAR should allow a detailed look at the data.

RE: Resmed Airsense 11 AUTO
One other question, I normally have to get up about two times per nignt to go use the bathroom. My machine is on auto start and auto off. Will the data get messed up or skipped because of the bathroom breaks (i.e. does it record all between noon one day and noon the next day)?

Hi dpower01! -
![]() The AS11 stores 365 days of summary data, 30 days of detailed data and 30 sessions of high-resolution data. The card must be in the AS11 while it's in use to record the detailed data. The AS11 stores only summary data locally. A session is defined as each start/stop. The AS11 by default displays a 30-day average. You can adjust the reporting period in your user settings. This will be reset back to the 30-day every time you power cycle it. - Red

On Airsense 10 Auto, you do not need to pull out the SD card. It will record for years with the size you have.
Bathroom breaks just mean one session ends until the next begins. They will all be part of the same night. The break in the data will be clearly shown. I doubt Airsense 11 is worse, but I have not looked into it.

Thank you very much. That exactly answers my question(s).

RE: Resmed Airsense 11 AUTO
Unless you are titrating daily to get to an ideal point, pulling the card and updating OSCAR every single day is not likely to be more diagnostically helpful than doing it the same day, once a week.
The small display also shows you the AHI for the session which is probably enough for one night unless there are obvious problems. And for day X or Y, if you stop, go for a snack or use the toilet or answer the phone you see a gap of non usage then the data starts again. Auto stop or manual stop, same thing. The 11 and 10 are the same insofar as this sort of thing applies.

I am still fairly new at this, but I find it helpful to record notes for each night, for example, indicating whether I was sleeping on my side or back at which times. To do this in OSCAR, it is necessary to update the data each night unless you want to record it elsewhere until you update the data. However, comparing how I slept to the data is interesting, even if I haven't found a use for it, so I continue to do it. I imagine the usefulness or interest of this can vary substantially from person to person. |
