F20 to F40 = an AHI spike

F20 to F40 = an AHI spike
Hi All

Hoping for some opinions please.

I've recently noticed I'm getting swelling under my right eye (preferred sleeping side) and suspect it's due to my CPAP. I was using an F20 mask with memory foam and my AHI was close to 0.0 most nights. I purchased an F40 a few days back and my AHI has jumped up to 1.9. Granted there are probably some teething issues I need to work out with the mask fitting, but I was wondering if anyone else had experienced this. I've copied my OSCAR charts from the F40 (high AHI)     vs F20 (low AHI)

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum.

As to the AHI spike one night does not make a trend.

Although, looking at your charts you need to raise your minimum pressure to 9cm (your median pressure is over 9cm now) also raise your EPR to 3.  The setting change should help reduce your flow limitations which are currently to high and improve your sleep quality. Try the new settings for a few days then post your new charts.

Hide the calendar, we need to see the settings and hide the snore chart, and show the flow limit chart.

You flow limit went down with the new mask, but it was only one night and it is still high, so follow Old Steve's advice and raise EPR to 3 and raise your minimum to 9 cm.

Either way your AHI was under 2. Use whichever mask feels better.
Mask Primer

Positional Apnea

Attach OSCAR, etc.

Thanks all.

Just to clarify; the 1.9 AHI persisted for the first 3 nights on the F40, which I thought was weird given I was consistently close to 0 using the F20.

I'll follow the advice and report back in a few days. Thanks!
