Fed up with my cpap treatment and Doctor.
Hi,
I have attached my CPCP result off today and yesterdays. Also, I have attached overall summary.
Looks like everything is good. But still does not feel good in a day. my eyes are heavy all time. I want to sleep all time. Not able to concentrate 100%. and if I do not sleep in a day I am gone by the night.
I am IT engineer and its impacting my work.
I have tried everything to improve it. try two different mask and used different mouth tape to stop air flow out from the mouth.
With mouth tape I feel good but not always. some days are really tough even my AHI is good.
my PCP is not helping me. I have tried other sleep doctor also. I am fed up with them. they are not getting what's wrong with me.
some time I feel I am going to die soon.
Can some one suggest what I can do next ? I am from Fremont California.
Thank you so much for helping me.
RE: Fed up with my cpap treatment and Doctor.
I've reviewed your previous threads, and I see nothing in any of your graphs that point to your lack of concentration and tiredness. Actually, your therapy looks very good.
It's probably time to look outside of Cpap therapy to find out why you feel so bad.
Are you still experiencing headaches? This can point to a few things like low Oxygen levels or high blood pressure.
Make an appointment with a general doctor and have a physical done, complete with lab work. At least rule out any other medical problems.
Not everything points to Cpap use and Cpap use can't heal other problems.

Hi OpalRose,
Thank you so much for your response.
I have low oxygen in the night before start CPAP therapy. I have purchased one good oximeter and measure in the night. some time it drop to 87 min.
I thought low oxygen will be reduce with CPAP machine. Does it not true ?
RE: Fed up with my cpap treatment and Doctor.
Hopefully, low oxygen levels would improve with Cpap use, but not always.
If your levels drop below 88 for a short time, then there's probably nothing to worry about. If it stays low or you see that happening often you need to bring that up with your doctor, or a Pulmonologist who could test you further.
There are many here who need/use supplemental oxygen along with Cpap therapy.

You definitely need a good clinical workup with blood tests, including those for thyroid functions, which can produce those miserable feelings. I second OpalRose's suggestion for a pulmonologist to do a simple lung function test. It might also be helpful to get an echocardiogram.

Thank you guys for your response.
Let me search for the new PCP and look forward.
Thank you.

I also use a Pulse Oximeter every night - and my Blood Oxygen is definitely much improved when I use CPAP. However, I still get quite tired during the day - despite average night time SO2 readings of 93% - but have heard that some folk get a good result almost immediately, while with others it can take time...

@kdpatel, When you had your sleep study, were you also diagnosed with Periodic Limb Movements (significant number)? Sleep docs tend to gloss over them and may have not even said anything to you. You can find it in the details a little further down on the results pages. If PLM is on there it can severely degrade your sleep to the point it feels like PAP therapy isn't helping even though your Flow Limits and AHI look great. Not only that, frequently PLM gets worse with PAP therapy. Just asking because it's worth checking into if your current therapy regimen seems lacking in efficacy. In my case they ignored it completely, even when I asked "Aren't those numbers kind of high, and wouldn't that be part of the problem?" I nearly quit PAP therapy because it wasn't giving the results expected for all the hassle and discomfort involved in adjusting to it. Ended up having to go to a Neurologist to get it addressed, now with good PAP therapy and PLM meds I feel better than I have in years.

One thing that also has to be considered is side effects of meds that you are taking. That should also be checked out.
