Sorry for the long post, but I just got my first CPAP with no instructions and no settings set in the machine.  It is a ResMed AutoSense 11 with a ResMed AirFit F20 mask.  I took an at home sleep test with a Belun Ring.

The summary is as follows: Time in Bed 570.4 mins, bAHI3 36.4/hr, bAHI4 22.6/hr, Min. SpO2 81.7%, SpO2<90% 23.8 mins, Sleep Efficiency 78.9%, Total Sleep Time 398.5 mins, Mean Pulse Rate 81.4 bpm, Arrhythmia Ratio 0%
The Sleep Statistics are as follows: Wake Duration 106.5 mins, Counts 19, WASO 83.5 mins; REM Duration 81 mins, % in TST 20.3%; NREM Duration 318.5 mins, % in TST 79.7%
The Respiratory Statistics are as follows: bAHI3 TST 36.4/hr, REM 56.3/hr, NREM 31.4/hr
The Oxygen Desaturation Statistics are as follows: ODI3 TIB 20.5/hr, TST 21.2/hr, REM 36.3/hr, NREM 17.4/hr; ODI4 TIB 8.0/hr, TST 8.4/hr, REM 17.0/hr, NREM 6.2/hr
The SpO2 Statistics are as follows:  SpO2 Max 99.2%, Mean 93.8%, Min 81.7%; Duration <90% 23.8 min, ,89% 16.7 mins, ,88% 12.1 mins, 80% 0 mins; % in TST <90% 4.2%, <89% 2.9%, <88% 2.1%, <88% 0%
The Pulse Rate Statistics are as follows: Max 110 bpm, Mean 81.4 bpm, Min 60 bpm
The Cardiovascular Statistics: SDNN 49.1 ms, RMSSD 33.7 ms, pNN50 5.2%; nLF 65.1%, nHF 34.9%Arrhythmia Ration .8%

I have tried to use the machine on default settings, but can only get about an hour or two before I have to take it off.  The reason why I take it off is because I wake up having a hard time catching my breath, because the air is warm and humid and thick.

I'm guessing that I need to adjust the settings and would greatly appreciate any all help I can get.

RE: First Time User
Welcome

If you are using default settings, you need to turn your low-pressure setting up to 7. That's about the minimum for an adult. The 4 is there for small children.

You need to download Oscar and post a chart. Oscar charts show loads of information that will help us help you. When you are ready to post a chart, press the F12 button (FN+F12 for Mac). That will usually post it correctly. We need to see the following, and only the following, in the order listed on the first page:

Event Flags
Flow Rate
Pressure
Leak Rate
Flow Limits

When you are ready, post a redacted copy of your sleep study, too.

Again, welcome, and best wishes for achieving great therapy and comfort! Smile

I am giving you advise as someone before you, though I didn't succeed with cpap my self

you may have a leak and comfortability problems with your mask, can be solved by switching to a nasal pillow mask (BMC mask only $40) but always use tap when you use a nasal mask

well, hope you are from the lucky ones
