Fixed Aerophagia using a Halo style chin strap

Fixed Aerophagia using a Halo style chin strap
I have been getting Aerophagia for some time now.  I switched to a RESMED Airfit P10 nasal mask with a lower pressure, and I still get Aerophagia when sleeping on my side.  When sleeping on my back I noticed I do not get Aerophagia even at my full prescribed pressure.

Problem:

CPAP/BIPAP pressure seems to inflate the upper area of my neck and throat area beneath my chin as I am falling asleep.  I suspect this is the case with everyone, but helps to contribute to Aerophagia with some.  The throat relaxes, and the area inflates a bit.  I have noticed this relaxation and expansion upon feeling the air go into my stomach.

Solution:

I used a Halo style chin strap made by Sunset and aligned the chinstrap not on the front of my chin, but near the back, under my chin.  The alignment must not restrict your blood flow and breathing obviously, but it should be tight enough to prevent the CPAP/BIPAP machine from inflating this area outward when completely relaxed.  The bottom of the chinstrap is partially touching the front of my throat, but still under my jaw.  This does not seem to restrict blood flow, which could also be a concern for some.  The Halo style chin strap is focused on the bottom of the jaw/chin, and up against the front of the throat, not the sides where blood flow is expected.  Please pay attention to how the straps on top of your head is aligned.  The two straps should be aligned to support this position.

I tried this morning with success, no Aerophagia sleeping on my side!   Please let me know if this method works for you by replying to this post.
