Got a pacemaker due to nocturnal heart blocks. How to determine OA during leaks?
I was recently fitted with a Medtronic pacemaker that should keep my heart at 60bpm minimum. My O2 ring and watch showed it going down to 49bpm and mid 50's at times. I wanted to check my BIPAP for OA/CA but got a lot of leaks, and I woke up with minor night sweats around my t-shirt. I'm checking with my doctor office on why the pacemaker would not contstant pace at 60bpm. I was fitted with it, because I had
complete heart blocks happen, most likely due to my sleep apnea. But sleep doctor says I'm treated well , because on their side, my machine always shows AHI < 1 with BIPAP. ... LOL! Yet, I ended up with a pacemaker because the EP said blocks most likely caused by both electrical and sleep apnea issues!
Is there any way to determine how I was breathing or how many obstructions I had during the leaks?
I couldn't get the CSV file from the O2Ring to import. Not sure if I should use a different file. Got an Android phone. So the O2Ring chart is super compressed. But you can still see a lot of flucuation in O2 last night! This concerns me!

With extra high leaks like that, all bets are off regarding much useful data or therapy. This must be controlled better. Some of these leaks were over double what the ResMed can handle. Large leaks 31% of the time is not something you can accept.
Mask Primer
Positional Apnea
Attach OSCAR, etc.

Can these leaks be caused by "jaw drops" when you are asleep? A soft cervical collar or a chin strap that pulls straight up, but not back might help if that is the case.
Stay safe and good luck

I reached out to my sleep doc and their mask fitting person. To see what else I can try. I do have a silicone medium mask new sitting here air fit f20. I can try that but most likely may need to go back to large or another mask. Thanks. I'll keep this thread updated.

I tried the F20 myself and it never controlled leaks well enough. Yes, keep us updated. We'll help as best as we can.

Myron,
This a lot of reading from our wiki on mask leaks. You may find something in here as well that may help stop your leaks:
